Sac-Anime & Beau's Iai Demo!

Hakama's sure are spiffy.  Can't wait 'til I get one!

For those not in the know, Beau is a student in the art of Iaido (which I have also recently begun studying).

This Saturday (9/3/11), he and other memebers of Happokaze Budo will be performing a demonstration on the outdoor ampitheater stage at the Sac-Anime Convention at 12:00 noon. This is a rare opportunity to see, so if you're around Sac-Town you should come and check it out!

Guard stance while leaping?  LOL, what? :P

Though I will not be joining in the demo (I have MUCH studying yet to do, including making normal people-sized steps instead of leaping and bounding about like a freaking gazelle), I will be selling prints and comics at my table in the vendor hall of the convention.

I don't think you need a ticket for the outdoor show, but if you wanna come hang out with me and check out my wares you should think about investing in one. :)

To Far Away Times...

Even though I haven't been drawing Geeks in Love, I've still been drawing!  My fellow "Made in the 80's" geeks should appreciate this one...

This is Crono and Marle from "Chrono Trigger" (originally for SNES).  [link]

This was a birthday gift for my husband, as Chrono Trigger just so happens to be his favorite game and this his favorite scene.

I love you, Beau, and celebrate the day you came into the world before coming into my life.  <3

Sorry. :(

Sorry for the lack of updates, Geeks.  My home office has been occupied for a bit now, incurring some difficulties and interruptions in my normal drawing schedule.  Also, I just started some classes so getting used to that.  Please bear with me.  My schedule has been insane since June, but I will be a normal schedule soon!

Dealing With Trolls

troll
 noun /trōl/
trolls, plural

1.  A mythical, cave-dwelling being depicted in folklore as either a giant or a dwarf, typically having a very ugly appearance

2.  One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.

So I'm excited to say I just recently received my very first troll!  And let me tell you, obvious troll was obvious.

My first reaction to the comment (directed at my recently self-published Narcissus comic) was that of "WTF?"  My next reaction was to take a deep breath and glean the foulness for usable criticism.  After none could really be found nor any real creativity, I recognized the repeated use of the same 4-letter word and wondered what it would read like if the curses were replaced with words of a more giggle-worthy nature.  The above comic (breaking away from the usual format) was the result.  I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, because now I can't help but laugh.

Gettin' Down on Friday

Attention!  "Geeks in Love" will henceforth be updating every week on FRIDAYS.  That is all.

(Think about fun.)
